Terms of Service

PDF Perfect ("PDF Perfect", "we", "us") is run by Ayesha Iftikhar. By using pdfperfect.org (the "site") you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

1. The service

PDF Perfect provides free tools to compress, merge, split, edit, rotate and extract pages from PDF files, plus guides about working with PDFs. The tools run in your web browser: your files are processed on your own device and are not uploaded to us. You don't need an account, and we don't charge for the tools.

We may add, change or remove tools and features at any time, and the site may occasionally be unavailable, for example during maintenance.

2. Your files and your content

• You keep all rights to the files you process. We don't receive them, so we claim no rights in them.
• You are responsible for having the right to process, change and share the documents you use with the tools, including documents that belong to someone else or contain other people's personal information.
• Because processing happens on your device, we can't recover a file for you. Always keep your original.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the site for anything unlawful or to infringe anyone's rights;
• try to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or the services it relies on;
• scrape or copy the site's guides and content in bulk and republish them as your own;
• misrepresent PDF Perfect, for example by suggesting that we endorse your product or service;
• send spam, malware or other harmful content through the feedback form.

4. What the tools can and can't do

We work hard to make the tools reliable, but PDF files vary widely and results depend on your file, browser and device. In particular:

• Compression redraws pages as images, so text in a compressed copy can't be selected or searched.
• Drawing a shape over content with the Edit tool doesn't remove the content underneath. The tools are not a redaction service.
• Very large or unusual files may fail or take a long time, depending on your device's memory.

Check every output file before you rely on it, send it or delete the original. The How it works page and each tool's "Limits" section describe the details.

5. Our content

The site's design, text, guides, logos and code are owned by PDF Perfect or its licensors. You may link to any page and quote short extracts with a link back. The open-source libraries the tools use, such as pdf-lib and pdf.js, remain under their own licences.

6. Advertising and third-party links

The site may show advertising, including ads served by Google, and links to other websites. We don't control and aren't responsible for third-party sites, products or ads. How advertising partners use cookies is explained in our cookie policy and privacy policy.

7. No warranty

The site and tools are provided free, "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, PDF Perfect and the people who run it are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, documents, business or profit, arising from your use of the site or tools. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

9. Privacy

Our privacy policy explains the limited information we collect and how we use it. Our cookie policy lists the cookies and browser storage the site uses.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated terms.
